About the Author Author Nancy Kelley found her inspiration for The Whispering Rod in the statue of Mary Dyer, which stands on the front lawn of the Massachusetts State House. Ms. Kelley holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Massachusetts/Boston and a Master's degree in American Literature from Harvard University Extension School. She is at work on a second novel of historical fiction, which is set in pre-Revolutionary Boston. She currently lives in Newton, Massachusetts.
